9 Days Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Maasai Mara and Amboseli Camping

A safari to the north via the high shoulder of Mountain Kenya to the Game Reserve of Samburu. Here the Ewaso Nyiro River supports a wide variety of game among them elephant, buffalo, cheetah leopard, lion, grevy's zebra, Reticulated giraffe, oryx and the long necked gerenuk. This park is Popular for the 3 cats cheetah leopard, lion also the herbivores such as elephants.

The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

From Nairobi, roughly 215 miles north to Samburu Game Reserve, a haven for uncommon creatures such as Grevy’s zebra, the flightless Somali ostrich and the gerenuk antelope, with its elongated neck. Long-horned beisa oryx and reticulated giraffes are other unique finds in this rocky, semiarid zone of Kenya.

Verdant forests and areas punctuated by plant life add contrast to the more rugged territory and dehydrated riverbeds of Samburu, which was created in the 1970s. Visit the Uaso Nyiro River for a gander at water-loving crocs or bathing elephants, and keep eyes peeled for a few of the 350-plus bird species that might swoop overhead. Others that call this park home include African buffalo, cheetahs, impalas, waterbucks and lions.

Day 1: Samburu

After breakfast depart Nairobi at 7.30Am drive to Samburu National Reserve cross Equator, travel through changing landscapes to the rugged-semi region, though harsh but having unique species like the unusual reticulated giraffe, grevy's Zebra, Beisa, oryx, gerenuk. These species are rarely found elsewhere. The bird life is especially notable. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Campsite.

Day 2: Samburu
Full day with morning and afternoon game drive. Optional visit to Samburu villages. Meals and overnight at Samburu Campsite

Day 3: Lake Nakuru
Depart Samburu after breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch for Lunch, In the afternoon game drive until late afternoon, later depart back to the Camp for Dinner and overnight at Campsite
Day 4: Lake Baringo/ Bogoria
Leaving from Lake Nakuru after breakfast we make a scenic drive to the west across the Lerochi Plateau, arriving at Lake Baringo in time for Lunch. Have an afternoon day trip to Lake Bogoira to explore the Lake Geysers and Hot spring and in good day you will view Kudus, Antelopes, Giraffes,later depart back to Baringo, Optional Boat Ride at the Lake. Overnight at Lake Baringo Campsite


Day 5: Maasai Mara
Depart from Lake Baringo after breakfast and head for Maasai Mara National Reserve which is famous for it's great herds of wild game. All animals found in Kenya among the "big five" are found here. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at Mara Campsite

Day 6: Maasai Mara
From the camp, we explore the Mara region, packed with the elephant, zebra, rhino and all kinds of game through out the year with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti occurring mainly in July and August. Being at Maasai Mara is "as if you found yourself in the New York of the natural world according to some authorities". Indeed you have the best opportunity of seeing all the big five. Dinner and overnight at Manyatta Campsite. 

Day 7: Amboseli
Depart Mara after breakfast and proceed to Ambosel, lunch will be enroute to the Park. Upon arrival at the the Park have a game enroute to the Lodge, Amboseli is at the Slope or Foot of the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Dinner and overnight at Ambopseli Camp

Day 8: Amboseli
Full day with two game drive. Meals and overnight at Ambopseli Camp

Day 9: Amboseli - Nairobi - Departure
Depart for Nairobi after breakfast, arriving late afternoon, We will reserve Dinner at Carnivore Restaurant at rate of 40 USD Per Person. Dinner will be at 1900Hrs, later transfer to JKIA to board you flight back home
